'Maro Charithra' is a love story which highlights the Brahmin and non-Brahmin divide. It portrays the disagreements between two generations of people. Brahmin boy Balaji (Kamal Haasan) is in love with Sapna (Sarita) who hails from a non-Brahmin non-vegetarian family. As expected, the parents of both Balaji and Sapna are averse to their intention to get married. The parents impose severely strict conditions in an attempt to break-up the love affair. Will Balaji and Sapna be able to unite despite the opposition? Will their love triumph in the end, as is generally believed?
