Two brothers, who are as different as chalk and cheese, live with their mother. The elder one Madhavayya is a priest in Lord Krishna’s temple, while the younger brother Gopala is man about town. Madhavayya drives away Gopala from his house after he finds his brother drunk one day. However, Gopala undergoes a change when he falls in love with Radha, niece of the village president Sheshadri. Shehadri is a dishonest and a crooked man who diverts all government funds given to the village for his personal use. Sheshadri and Gopala are always at loggerheads. Meanwhile, Gopala forces Sheshadri to close his government run school and opens his own for the benefit of village children. However, Sheshadri manages to create a rift between Radha and Gopala, as he wants his niece to marry his son Krishna. Sheshadri also steals jewels belonging to the temple and tries to foist a false case on Gopala. Is Gopala vindicated? Do Gopala and Madhavayya manage to bury their differences?
